Nepse Index Surges Past 2,600 Points with Over Rs 6 Billion in Transactions

Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index crossed the 2,600-point milestone today, closing at 2,601.21 points after gaining 0.48 percent, or 12.58 points, during the day’s trading. The stock market saw transactions amounting to Rs 6.26 billion, with a total of 12,982,619 units of shares from 325 companies being traded.

The day's trading resulted in a market capitalization of Rs 1.44 trillion. Share prices of 171 companies increased, while 68 saw declines, and four companies remained unchanged.

Notable movements in the market included the share price of Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited, which hit the green circuit, reflecting significant gains. Similarly, shares of Win Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited rose by 9.09 percent, Samling Power Company by 7.46 percent, and Nepal Republic Media Limited by 7.37 percent.

On the downside, Super Madi Hydropower Limited experienced a red circuit, with significant losses. Additionally, the share price of NIC Asia Select Fund 30 decreased by 6.93 percent, and River Falls Power Limited fell by 6.45 percent.

This surge highlights increasing investor activity and optimism in the Nepali stock market.
